So it’s been a couple months since I’ve last posted a view of the exterior. Our stucco guy has wire wrapped the house and applied the scratch coat (I believe that’s correct). And so we are waiting for the warmer days to get started on the stone and stucco. “Come on mother nature!”
The day I went up to take these pictures it was SUPER windy outside. At one point as I was taking the side picture of the house I lost eye contact with the drone and freaked out! This is why I do not have a picture of the “other” side of the house with the garage. I landed, and headed back home.
If you noticed, we did receive and installed our front door. An all wood door with a transom. Daniel will be staining our front door into a dark rustic color. We have not yet had garage doors put in but Daniel and I chose them the other day so that’s super exciting!
Our Basement
I realized I never posted the interior of our basement. Here you have it. Since I’ve snapped these photo’s, two portions of our basement have been framed out to be individual spaces. But shown below in order of walking down the steps, going left and wrapping around the room is as follows:
So that’s it for the tour of our house. I do have a blog for our second floor and it can be found here: Interior of our home (second floor)
We have a lot going on next week. Daniel said they should be well-drilling for our water. Also, they should be getting started on the storm-water management project so that’s exciting. Some last minute electrical work inside to be finished along with PPL to start to run the underground electric from our house to the road.
Daniel and I have been brainstorming ideas on room ideas. Visiting a couple places to check out tile and so forth. We are focused mainly on the kitchen and master bath. We just want to do whatever we need to move in. Things such as stoning the fireplace, finishing the basement, and even some of the upstairs bedrooms are last on our list. This is our forever home so interior wise we are in no rush and that’s okay. Whatever it takes to get our use of occupancy, then we’re set!
To my dearest Daniel:
It seems like yesterday we were walking this property for the first time through all the brush and tree’s. I know how much this project has been stressful for you and I’m sorry. In May, it will be 1 year gone by that you’ve been working on our home. I just want to remind you in front of the world of how proud I am of you. I might say it too much at times, I might not say it enough at times but you truly are one hell of a man. I’m so grateful to be by your side and apart of this dream of yours. I can only hope and pray that Danny is half the man you are. The standard’s are high. You should be VERY proud of yourself and never be afraid to show it. Your hard work shines through you.
We’re almost there. I. love. you.
If you wanted to reminisce here is my first blog:
