“If there is no struggle, there is no progress.”

Well, we’ve made it to August. Oh, how time flies. This has been such a long project for us and we are more than ready to be done with it. Daniel more so than myself. As fun as it is and was to pick out every little detail to this house, It is stressful and overwhelming at the same time; however, worth it? I think, YES!

Another Sunday down. It was a hot day up there yesterday! But Daniel was able to once again get so much done while Danny and I enjoyed the outdoors.

We picked up all the railings and post needed for our staircase and the open balcony looking into the great room. Daniel will be choosing a stain color and our painters will start to stain them along with the front door and side entrance door.

Our Kitchen cabinets are installed, our farm sink has arrived, and the granite people came and measured for our kitchen granite tops that we chose. I’M PUMPED! While designing our kitchen we changed it up a bit from what our blueprints were. Our kitchen Islander has an attached bench (storage cabinets underneath) that will eventually be furnished. From there we will have a Farmhouse table with a couple chairs on the other side. 🙂 Our butler pantry is coming along nice. I chose a wine rack to save room in the mini fridge that will go next to it. Hehe!

The tile in Danny’s bathroom is also finished. We also ordered and picked up the vanity that will be going in. It’s a cloud gray color. I can’t wait to get some light fixtures to really brighten up the look of these tiles. They turned out to really blend well together!! For paint color I chose a shade of blue that would go well with the shower tile. The reason I close a blue based bathroom is that his theme in there will be “under the sea”. I can’t wait to share the final look!

Another finished addition to our house this week is the fireplace. We used the same veneer that was used outside. I just LOVE how it turned out! Daniel also picked out some slate that went well with the stone. They not only did an amazing job with the mantle.. but wrapping the slate around the base of the fireplace as well!

To top off the look out front they also wrapped the pillars on the porch, stoned the face of the steps, and slated the walking surface!! They aren’t finished quite yet but should be soon. Daniel does have some good ideas! This is just beautiful.

Our master bath is coming along as well. The shower is just about done except the pebbled floor and the tile that will be around the soaking tub. Our vanity is ordered and will be delivered this week. The views in this bathroom are unreal.

However; while checking out the master bathroom I noticed a disturbing message. Kind of freaked me out but then I thought about it. If anyone ever TRIED to break into our home they WOULD NOT leave alive. That is all. But whoever wrote it I hope they find the help they need. Life is too short for hate.

Moving on…

Daniel had a bunch of loads of stone dropped off for the driveway. Our excavator also came back to drop off soil to finish the grading of the house and seed away! I can’t wait for a yard of grass!!!

We’ve been told, “Before it gets better, it get’s worse.” And ain’t that the truth. We’ve had some setbacks but nothing will knock Daniel down. This week the electric is getting it’s final touches. Come to find out there are some outlets that were covered up by the drywall guys. Along side to that issue.. while digging to put piping underground to control the water flow towards the beginning of out property, our electric was accidentally cut. So Daniel had to deal with that the other day and didn’t come home till midnight! Ugh, so it’s safe to say this hasn’t been all flying rainbows. Those are only a few of the headaches but you get the idea.

We are almost there!
